We did it! We've reached the edge of the solar system. Or have we? Well no, not really. But we've reached the outermost planet at least. It's Neptune! Named after the Roman god of the sea. What does Neptune have? A couple little rings? An awesome moon named Triton? Yes to both and so much more. Let's dive in!

- D Bhatt: Please have a creative thumbnails for more views
- Michael Pisciarino: 0:10 The last of the gas giants Nearly identical in size and mass to Uranus Cloud belts like Jupiter. Atmospheric Vortex. Convection currents cause 2,200 km/hr winds, fastest in the solar system 1:48 *Moons* (largest= *Triton* π± ) has a retrograde orbit Seven regular moons. Seven irregular moons. 3:32 Where did Triton Come From?
- Edward Woods: I'm highly anticipating the content of this series.
- Shrinil Dhorda: Keep it up professor Dave...
- Minespidur: Loving this series and the mathematics one!
- Shane Michael: Although I am already well informed about Astronomy, and find the chemistry videos of more use for me, I had to check out the you tube videos you made on Astronomy. Very Good, and very educational !
- Qingyang Zhang: Since Triton is so large and it has been in orbit with Neptune for long enough, are Triton and Neptune tidally locked by each other? This would mean that looking from Neptune, you can only see one side of Triton, and looking from Triton, you can only see one side of Neptune. Am I right... or talking nonsense?
- Robert Sullivan: Sorry I still count Plutoππππ
- Prakriti Poudyal: Informative! ππ
- Shane Michael: Me too. And Always will. I feel sorry for the little fella! I grew up with 9 planets.
- eldersprig: 13 planets!
- William Adams: Nice video πππ
- Qingyang Zhang: +Shane Michael Thank you!
- Rajesh Chandrasekharan: Sir,how can a gas can move with more than velocity of sound (1 mach) in that gas?
- Oeumuepo StΓ©phanois: Great video, thanks Professor Dave! Can I just lodge a complaint for there not being a "not to scale" note on the illustration of Triton and Neptune, for the very casual viewers that will stumble upon this video?
- Shane Michael: I doubt that any gas giant and rocky world like Triton, did any evolving together. Triton is more likely to be a captured planetoid from the kuiper belt. Neptune is much too large to have any evolutionary partnership with Triton due to the tremendous difference in size between the 2 Worlds. I hope this helps a little. But keeping an open mind, Astronomy is a bizarre mixture of physics, the understood and the misunderstood !
